Nolan DeMarco McGahan
For much of his life, Nolan has considered himself a modern nomad who has sought out the untraditional paths of life. A man with a formal education in fine arts and somatic experience who has also dirtied his hands volunteering his time planting trees in communities nationwide. A Juilliard-educated former leading contemporary dancer with the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet. Regarded for his expertise in partner. While at Juilliard, he was exposed to movement and awareness modalities such as the Alexander Technique, the Feldenkrais Method, and the Franklin Method. During his junior year, Nolan did his first deep dive into Anatomy & Kinesiology with Irene Dowd. Functionality was always at the forefront of Nolan’s relationship with movement performance.
He’s been a yoga practitioner for nearly 20 years, completed a yoga teacher trainer, and regularly practices meditation and breathwork. Nolan worked at StretchLab locations in Denver and Boulder before attending the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute. After quickly gaining clientele and being in high demand at StretchLab, he further developed his skills by pursuing a deeper understanding of working effectively with different bodies at DIRI. He has worked with clients who are affected by myopathy, spastic paraplegia, cerebral palsy, severe cases of arthritis and scoliosis, piriformis syndrome, and frozen shoulder, among other conditions, and has worked with many professional and college-level athletes.
